About the Author
Joel Murach is the oldest son of publishing pioneer Mike Murach. Joel has been writing and editing books about computer programming for over 20 years now. In his books, you can see his clear approach to teaching any subject.

Terrific book. Great format

This is the best book on SQL Server I have seen. Perhaps this deserves a disclaimer, I am an experienced programmer. Then again, perhaps not. The book covers all aspects of Database programming from design to SQL coding that a software developer might need. For a more thorough treatment of CLR functions I would recommend Dejan Sunderic's text. Everything else is here.
A word about the format. (I love it) Even numbered pages contain theoretical/descriptive expositions of various topics. On the facing odd-number pages the book has well designed examples illustrating the material on the even pages.
