The set of instructions in these books IF followed will produce results better than you've experienced and for almost no money. John knows what he is talking about. Natural or sports supplement enhanced this is a great plan if you can muster the courage to lift with all out assault intensity.

Mass with integrity

I have accumulated a vast array of bodybuilding books since I embraced weight training in 1978. Some good, some bad, and some I cherish dearly. John's book falls in the latter category. Aware of his integrity before I made my purchase, I knew his writings would be honest and logical, void of fabrication or fluff (which plagues most training books). Written by someone who's honed his art in the trenches, where it counts, he has a never ending pool of successful clients.

His win rate (natural) competition further proof John does what he preaches. He continues to prove how sensible training can build muscle to rival the volume trainers. As not only is excess unnessary, it works against the very thing we are all trying to achieve...build more muscle. Why slave away and waste hours in the gym, day in day out, when all it requires is a fraction of the time?

John's approach can be summed up in one word: efficiency. You can't go wrong using John's approach. It won't be easy, nothing of great worth ever is, but you will be rewarded for your efforts. Growing as fast as your genetics will allow.

Loved, loved, loved it!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest opinion.

I have read all the other 3 Girls books in the series have have loved each one. This book covers a lot of the back story as well as bringing new details in. Rachel's way of writing gets you invested in each character and their lives.

This book brings more Ginney, Annie & Jen as well as the others in their lives and I definitely cried more than once as I experienced their issues with them.

Cannot wait for the next book in the series!

An engaging read

Three Girls and a New Beginning follows the lives of three teens, now adults, who depend upon each other for the strong family unit they crave. Despite being part of a series, it works well as a stand alone novel. Rachel Schurig draws you into the world she has created so much so that you feel part of their strong bond. These are my friends now and I feel their emotions as much as my own. This is the novel I didn't put down until the last page was turned

Fun series and the characters grew to feel like my friends and I looked forward to seeing what was going to happen next.

Lots of ups and downs but the friendships between the three (changes to four later in the series) main characters. You'll laugh, cry, worry, and throughly enjoy each of the books in the series. I'm so glad I stumbled onto this author! I do have one small complaint which is words repeated unnecessarily in some sentences ( I found myself rereading these sentences to leave out the redundant word so the sentence would make sense, also there were a few words misspelled phonetically that could have benefited from spell check. These are the only reason I only g ave this series 4 stars. I loved the stories, the characters, and the way everything flowed in the books and from one book to Ed NRC t. Got a great deal on. Amazon on a boxed set of the first three books

About the Author

William Morris (1834-1896) was an accomplished writer, textile designer and artist. A utopian socialist, he was associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the English Arts and Craft Movement, and was a founding member of the Socialist League in Britain. Greatly influenced by the medieval period, Morris helped establish the modern fantasy genre though his works The Defence of Guenevere and Other Poems, A Dream of John Ball, and The Well at the World s End. Authors like J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis were greatly influenced by works like The House of the Wolfings, The Roots of the Mountains, and The Wood Beyond the World. Morris was also an accomplished publisher, founding the Kelmscott Press in 1891, whose 1896 edition of the Works of Geoffrey Chaucer is considered a masterpiece of book design.

Unique even amongst unique books

THE WELL AT THE WORLD'S END is the place to start for William Morris novels, but after that, if you want more, you might check out his other "W" books, THE WOOD BEYOND THE WORLD and this one. WATER's story doesn't go from A to B, but rather A to B to C to D... In other words, it's episodic, though each episode leads to the next. The heroine, Birdalone, is a feminist roll-model, which is shocking in a Victorian novel; she's physically strong, intelligent, authoritative, good and kind. I can't think of another Victorian novel heroine who is all those things(three out of four, yes, but not all). Also, there is plain talk of sex; nothing R-rated, just PG-13, but very rare in Victorian literature. The point is that this is a unique book, even as unique books go. Plus, Morris's prose is practically poetry, and he's a master of details for characters and settings, never saying too much or little, which strikes a perfect balance between realism and mythicalness.

wonderful tale of strong women in dire straits

what must it have been like to have been a powerful, independent woman and to have read this epic fantasy in 1895, the year of its publication, twenty five years before women were given the vote in America? this epic of powerful, able females (and the bonds of friendship which both bind and conflict them) is far more than a melodrama of its day, and William Morris was a visionary in his portrayal of, and obvious admiration for, strong women. Every bit as good as THE WELL AT THE WORLD'S END...with great women baddies, as well, and kind, generous, and faithful men....check it out!

Golden, beautiful, and psychologically complex

While perhaps not as well-known as William Morris' other great fantasy novels -- "The Wood Beyond the World" & "The Well at the World's End" -- this one is every much their equal. Indeed, in some ways it's their better, in that it offers his richest & most compelling portraits of Woman, both as mythical & archetypal figures, and as individual, three-dimensional human beings. As with his other novels, there's an awareness of & appreciation for female sexuality & wisdom; but in these pages, Morris really explores these aspects in subtle & illuminating ways. No doubt mild by contemporary standards, it was shocking & revolutionary in Victorian times. And even now there is much that an intelligent reader, jaded by contemporary graphic excess, can learn from Morris. He's never didactic, mind you! But in the telling of his multi-layered story, he has much to say about the female wortld & psyche, and the paths of individuation women might take toward become whole.

The telling of the story, of course, is a pleasure in itself. Morris had mastered a clear, lyrical prose that had just the right amount of archaic shading, without ever tumbling into the plodding & turgid. His skill as a poet is apparent on every page. Starting with the simple, evocative name of Birdalone for his heroine, he displays his talent as a writer: strength & precision, applied with a jeweler's touch. Again, as with all his novels, no matter what's happening on a larger scale around his characters, the individual stories are what matter most. The quest in this case is very personal & intimate, and its rewards far greater than thrones & worldly power. There's a distinctly Jungian reading to be made of Morris' work, which makes it very contemporary after all.

The novel is available in many editions these days, but I'm reviewing the old Ballantine Adult Fantasy Series printing out of a longtime love for it. This was my introduction to William Morris, and I'll always associate him with the Lin Carter introductions & the gorgeous Garvasio Gallardo covers. But in any edition, it's most highly recommended!

It's an enjoyable read and a fun production to be a part of

Doing this play at my school and the script cracks me up. It's quick, witty, hilariously confusing, and a spoof on American and British humor(or humour....). I get a kick out of the stage directions as well. It's an enjoyable read and a fun production to be a part of.

Also, the actor editions are so nice to transport because they are lightweight. I can easily stick it in a folder or my purse when I need to review lines.

A Funny Farce with a Lot of Twists

This is a very funny British farce that is also a murder mystery-- or so we think. There are a lot of unexpected twists in the plot and a surprise ending. It would make a good community theater piece for actors who can do a passable British accent. As an audience pleaser,it's worth considering.
