Recommended for poor test takers

I was disappointed with this study guide, given its high cost of $50. The actual subject matter content is quite basic and cursory for each subject section presented. This is more of a blood and guts primer on the basic concepts upon which Energy Management is built. If you are getting set to take the CEM exam, you should be well beyond the level of this guide. One key area of value to be gained from this guide is its 30+ pages of test-taking tips and strategies, including techniques and study practices to achieve the best exam results. This is information you would find in ANY of the SECRETS series exam guides. The company specializes in the science of test-taking, not in the field of Energy Management. For this reason, I can recommend this guide to anyone who struggles with tests in general or is a "poor test-taker".
But for anyone else, you may want to put your $50 toward one of the three publications that AEE recommends for those pursuing the CEM certification.
In this guide, no sample energy management problems or solutions are presented. The 50 practice exam questions consist purely of content related questions quizzing the readers knowledge. Some of the answers are not found in the guide. However, the provided answer key DOES provide ample explanation as to the correct answer and even the incorrect answers. My concern was that the question formats and style did not closely match the math-based problems found in the official CEM practice exam.
Some will find this guide helpful, but $50 is a bit much for what I received.

It is a great study guide book that gives you somewhat of an idea what to expect on the test. The guide is very helpful in preparing you for the upcoming questions that will be similar to the test and it offers equations to help prepare for some of the math questions on the test.
